Ladies Day At The Irish Grand National 2015 | Fashion Boss

‘Elegantly Irish’

Ladies Day at the Grand National – where to begin! I had such an amazing day at the races, I was delighted to have been invited to the event by Ladbrokes and Branded 3 to blog about the fashion. The weather was perfect (17 fantastic degrees), the company was great and the horses kept us all very entertained. There was definitely some great wins throughout the day.

The morning of the races I was collected in Dublin city center and then headed straight to Fairyhouse racecourse in Meath with all the girls – Mei-Ling ( Darling Buds of Mei), Stephanie (EatSleepChic), Aoife and Miriam (TownMouseCountryMouseIreland), Dita (Ditatime), Annmarie (Style Biscuit), Laura (Style Savvy) and Laura and Beth from Branded3.

Within the first hour at Fairyhouse plenty of fashionable photo’s had been taken. This year’s guest judge for Best Dressed Lady in association with Carlton House was Vogue Williams (the Ultimate Survivor). She was wearing a stunning piece from Umit Kutluk’s SS’15 collection.

I wore a beautiful dress from Frock n Fabulous. Thank you again to Pamela for helping me choose my dress.  My amazing bespoke head-piece from Suzanne Ryan Millinery made the entire look. Suzanne did a fantastic job making my hat in just a few days. The pink really made the entire outfit come to life. She was kind enough to find the perfect clutch for me too. I got some many compliments throughout the day, everyone loved it –  thank you again Suzanne! She offers bespoke headpieces for all occasions. She rents and sells headpieces so be sure to get in touch with her for upcoming race days and events.

Suzanne wore a beautiful Alexander McQueen style feather cape from Debenhams, an all-white jumpsuit and of course, one of her amazing hats!

The fashion in general throughout the day was just fantastic. There were a lot of different styles – bright outfits, floral prints, vintage, modern, 70’s and all very Irish as the theme was ‘Elegantly Irish’.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal in Bobbyjo Bistro and not forgetting our afternoon tea. The food was delicious and it’s safe to say that each dish was devoured.

Over all I had a fabulous day at the races and I cannot wait to go again with the girls this summer!
