My Weekend Escape to Galgorm Resort & Spa

Hello everyone! It has been a while since my last blog post but I am back and ready to take on 2018. Finally!

I have been getting a good few questions about my trip to Galgorm Resort & Spa over the weekend so hopefully this post will answer all of your questions. My friend (Leo) and I escaped the craziness of Dublin for one night and we couldn’t think of a better place.  Galgorm is just a 2.5 hour drive from Dublin and it’s only 30 minutes from Belfast so we got there in no time. I love my weekend escapes and what better way to get over those January blues then a night away and some pampering?

– THE ROOM-

Galgorm Resort & Spa has 122 bedrooms including suites, deluxe, superior and standard rooms. They also have accommodation in the form of Riverside Cabins and Fishermen’s Cottages are set in the grounds and are ideal for groups or families.

We stayed in a Deluxe River View room and this was situated on the 4th floor. The room was really spacious, the bed was probably one of the comfiest I have ever slept in and the view of the river was the cherry on top. We had robes, slippers, and a complimentary mini bar too. Here is a list of rooms, cottages and cabins available.

They have a selection of riverside hot tubs, indoor and outdoor heated pools, steam rooms and saunasThere is also an amazing range of signature treatments that will leave you spoiled for choice. Each designed to offer an unparalleled Spa experience. Here is a full list of their Signature treatments.

Gold Quartz Treatment

I went with the Gold Quartz treatment and I left feeling like a new person. It was so relaxing and unlike any treatment I have had before. I have included a bit about it below as a good few of you were asking about it. This treatment is £125 Mon – Thurs & From £140 Fri – Sun | 90 mins £125 Mon – Thurs & From £140 Fri – Sun | 90 mins

Visualise yourself on a warm sandy beach as you relax onto our Gold Quartz treatment bed. Feel your tension dissolving as your therapist cocoons you in warm quartz stones. Singing bowls begin your journey into deeper relaxation as the vibrations increase positive energy within your body. Your treatment continues with blissful top to toe hot quartz poultice massage in which the Quartz bed will be tilted to increase circulation and boost your immune system followed by singing bowl meditation to conclude your experience leaving you feeling rebalanced and restored.’

– THE FOOD –

We had a dinner reservation at the Gillies Bar + Grill at 8pm that evening. I had heard great things about this particular restaurant so I was eager to dine here.  It had a cosy and relaxed ambience and views of the Resort’s stables. Gillies has a selection of menus that cater for a range of tastes with classic brassiere dishes, a grill selection and Asian-inspired dishes so we were spoiled for choice. I had the Gillies platter to start (Salt ‘n’ chilli chicken, BBQ ribs, fish cake, mini Caesar Salad), a chargrilled fillet steak for my main and a salted caramel chocolate torte for dessert. Delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re a lover of steak.

The breakfast was just as delicious as our dinner. I had a cheese and mushroom omelette which was cooked to perfection and a selection of pastries, fruit and mango yogurt. Tea and orange juice too of course. This set us up for the day. We went to the outdoor jacuzzi’s that morning before breakfast. Sun, rain, hail, snow….whatever the weather, I would recommend going out and trying this. Super relaxing!

– STEAL MY STYLE –

Faux Fur Coat

This Miss Selfridge faux fur coat is similar to the one I’m wearing in these shots. I picked up mine in Bershka just before Christmas but I unfortunately it has sold out. If you have been following my blog for a while now, you’ll know how much I love my faux fur coats. I have legit lost count of the amount I own. I went with an all black outfit as this pink beauty speaks for itself but you could definitely team it with some grey or white pieces.

Funnel Neck Jumper

In fairness, you can never own too many polo neck type jumpers, no matter what the season. I have a good few in various different colours because they are so handy to throw on. I wear leather pants with my black ones quite a lot too. All you need are some ankle or knee high boots, a statement coat and you’re ready to go. This jumper is similar to my own. I picked mine up in Primark months ago but they do still have a few in stores.

Faux Leather Skirt

Leather skirts are definitely a wardrobe stable, especially for Autumn and Winter. Whether you’re going for a super casual look or maybe you’re hitting the town over the weekend, there are lots of ways to style a leather skirt. I picked up mine in River Island ages ago but this skirt is quite similar.

Pointed Ankle Boots

Okay! These boots are my absolute favourite. I have legit worn them at least once a week since I got them back in September. They are knitted so they don’t cut your feet and they are so comfy to wear. I’ve had a good few of you ask me about these and I’m pretty sure they have sold out a few times over the last few months. If you don’t own a pair of sock boots you NEED to!

Overall, I really enjoyed the overnight stay. Lots of unwinding and a little pampering was just what the doctor ordered. If you’re planning a weekend away I would highly recommend Galgorm Resort & Spa. It’s perfect for couples and friends who are in need of some TLC and relaxation.
