Dublin Fashion Takes Over Once Again!
Dublin Fashion Festival returns from 7th to 13th September.
They have over 250 retailers, restaurants, bars and hotels taking part in the event each year. In the past these have included the city’s 8 flagships: Brown Thomas & BT2, Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Powerscourt Centre, Arnotts, Ilac Shopping Centre (including Debenhams), Jervis Shopping Centre & Penneys.
Over the last decade Dublin has become synonymous with fashion, style and an exciting mix of retail options, from designer and high street to vintage, making it an alluring shopping destination. DFF aims to put the fun and theatre back into shopping and socialising in the city. Bringing fashion and beauty retailers in the city centre together, it offers a heady mix of special offers, live fashion events and in-store activities that are unmissable.
The DFF Launch
Last night (August 12th), the launch of the sixth annual Dublin Fashion Festival took place in Dublin City Hall. From delish cocktails and canapés (thanks San Lorenzo’s) to beautiful art from Balla Bán Art and Canon snaps, selfies and goodie bags, we really were spoilt. As soon as we took our seats, the CEO of Dublin Town Richard Guiney gave an introductory speech, followed by a great speech from Clyde Carroll (the boss man) Marketing Director behind the festival. He talked about the upcoming festival (which will take place over an entire week this year) in more detail.
Before kicking off the fashion show, the Face of the Festival was revealed…it’s Pippa O’Connor-Ormond! Pippa looked stunning in a black jumpsuit and heels from Arnotts, she told us how honoured she is to representing the festival this year..
The fashion show then kicked off showcasing what the shops of Dublin have in store for us. It featured many eye-catching pieces including upcoming trends and not forgetting some very (Harvey Specter) sharp suits for the men
There was both bold and bright colours, boho chic vibes, fringing, monochrome and sequins…the list goes on. Like every year, aside from the fashion, the models made the show. Toni & Guy did a fantastic job on hair and make-up too.
The attendees were also gifted with a generous goodie bag, and invited to afters at The Meeting House.
The Face of DFF UNVEILED!
As I mentioned above, the face of #DublinFashion 2015 is Pippa. I cannot think of anyone more suitable for this year’s face of the festival. Pippa is seen as one of Ireland’s for style-driven and fashionable woman! #YouGoGirl
I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the DFF team (Dublin Town and Dublin Fashion) for putting together not only a memorable night but a night jam-packed full of fashion, fun, style, snaps and loads of treats. Well done to Sadhbh and all of the team at Elevate PR, Jules and the team at 1st Option Models, San Lorenzo’s & The Meeting House.
What I Wore
Crop top: Cari’s Closet
I called into Cari’s Closet yesterday morning to pick up a crocheted two-piece outfit. I decided to wear the crocheted top with my new culottes because I was dying to wear them. Thank you again to the girls in Malahide for all your help. Click here to see the full co-ord outfit.
Culottes: River Island
These culottes are a must for autumn/winter. They arrived in store on Monday so I headed in first thing Tuesday morning to get mine. I love the shape, material and overall look. They cost €45.00. Click here to see what else is in store.
Clutch: Lulu Guinness
I finally decided to take my recent Kildare Village purchase out with me last night. I have been obsessing about getting a giant red lips Lulu Guinness clutch for months so it is by far one of my favourites at the minute. Click here to buy one similar.
Heels: Primark
Again, you’ve seen me wear these quite a lot. They only cost €12.00 and I bought them in Penneys late last year. #Love
I am beyond excited for this year’s festival and I cannot wait to go to all of the shows and events next month. For more on this year’s festival click here!
I will be blogging and snapping loads leading up to and during the festival in September so keep an eye out. Thanks for reading! 🙂
Until next time…
