On Thursday, July 23rd I went to the H&M Studio AW15 Press day. The event took place in a beautiful house on Leinster Road, Dublin.
The themes for their latest studio collection are futurism, sports luxe and starburst shine. From fresh zip-up coats and jackets to roll necks, lurex coats and trousers this collection is clearly a unique one. It is a layered collection of effortless pieces with a tomboy feel which I love. I cannot wait for the collection to be in store from September 10th. Shopping list at the ready!
I had a great browse through the entire Studio collection. I was then treated to a delicious (and very healthy) green juice, which was then followed by a glass of bubbly. The food from Sova Food Vegan Butcher was seriously amazing. I now love vegan food. Even the plates were edible. After food, drink and many conversations and catch ups I then got to make my very own pot plant from scratch. One of the lovely girls from The Garden (@shopthegarden) helped me create my masterpiece.
Themes
Zip-up outerwear is a focus, from utilitarian, quilted nylon coats and long gilets, to camel wool coats with ribbed waists and tailored wool coats with an inner layer of zip-up nylon.
Knitwear is essential, I saw a good few roll neck jumpers in a variety of styles. Lurex knits can be worn day into night, while ribbed and zip-up knits have a sporty feel. Both of these will be ‘statement look’ next season so I cannot wait to get my hands on some of their knitwear pieces.
In terms of trousers, there were straight legged ones and wide flare ones. There was also ribbed knit leggings which create an active look.
In this collection the textures are contrasted, with faux fur coats, matte wool tailoring sequin blouses and patent detailing on jackets and skirts.
Futuristic starburst patterns are printed on lurex blouses and long-sleeve roll neck dresses. Utilitarian pieces highlight the tomboy theme, including leather ski-style dungarees and ribbed knit jumpsuits with front zips.
Accessories
Utilitarian caps, patent boots, leather driving gloves, heeled sandals, moon boots and an oversized patent bag were the key accessories on show. (see images below) #Love
What Caught My Eye
I loved all of the skirts, there was an insane pair of moon boots that really stood out and the leather ski-style dungarees were just fabulous.
The long knit jumpers and bomber jackets really caught my eye.
There was an orange faux fur coat and the cutest sparkly rocket ship handbag which I fell madly in love with.
