Lya Solis‘s AW show took place on Wednesday evening (June 24th) in the Banking Hall of the Westin Hotel. With champagne on arrival, there was plenty of catching up to be done before the show. After a few glasses of bubbly and some delicious canapes all guests were then invited into the Banking Hall.
The MC for the night was Kathryn Thomas who looked absolutely stunning in one of Lya’s white dresses. The detail in all of her pieces are superb and her latest collection certainly does not disappoint. After a brief introduction Kathryn welcomed The Coronas onto the stage. I hadn’t seen The Coronas perform in awhile so I was over the moon to see them.
The show consisted of three stories; Sky Gazing, Dark Nights and Enchanting Embellishments.
Story One: Sky Gazing
The daywear collection from Lya Solis is a palette of blush soft pinks and dreamy blues inspired by the changing colours of the Irish sky, from eerie pinks, to clouded blues and deeper midnight hues.
My favourite piece in this story was the navy blue dress (made to order) and it is priced at €699. As lace and embellishment pieces are key this season there was plenty to be seen in last nights show.
Story Two: Dark Nights
The main direction of Lya’s new collection is heavily focused on the contrast of textures; using leathers, wools, furs, hand-beaded embellishments and sheer mesh to showcase the Lya Solis woman as strong, independent, fashion focused and indestructible.
My favourite look from this story was look one; black python trousers and backless sparkly top with fur (€1199,€449 and €549).
Story Three: Enchanting Embellishments
The evening collection from Lya offered a vast array of styles from heavily handmade lace to subtly beaded bridal and intricate pretty pearls but all in a soft palette of nudes and creamy whites. Embellishment is a key part of what makes Lya’s collections stand out at any event with each piece meticulously hand made.
My favourite look from this piece was the final look which was a white lace dress.
All of the pieces were absolutely stunning and to top off the event there was a fantastic performance by one of my favourite Irish bands. We were lucky enough to see them perform their new single – that I love!
What I Wore
This bold and daring skirt received so many compliments on the night. It’s big and bright and I love the pattern. I decided to add this sequined clutch to finish off the look.
I will be posting up full details about this look soon!
Overall, I really enjoyed the night; the fashion, the catch-ups and the band. Well done to everyone involved and a big congratulations to Lya!
I’m cannot wait for the next show.
Until next time…
