You Had Me At Fringing
Channel your inner romantic this season as you take a walk down memory lane to the ‘70s. From washed denim to Prince of Wales and Donegal check, this season takes a literal approach to the era’s most iconic shapes and styles – reworking them with the lightest touch for Autumn/ Winter 2015.
Clean, lean cuts are layered for effortless effect; while pattern is replaced by embellishment including detailed embroidery, full fringing and opulent
jacquard for both day and night.
Artisan inspired fabrics and tactile textures thrill; with shearling, lace and velvet sitting prettily alongside bouclé, felt, wool twills and tweed. Embroidered yolks, lace trims and ditsy florals beautifully capture AW15’s nostalgic verve – taking direct inspiration from iconic St. Germain, Paris. This sweet spin on the season’s dominant ‘70s trend adds charm and allure – it’s the girl we all want to be.
By day, this works as contrast traditional checks with variegated stripes and cable knits with skinny ribs. Meanwhile A-line skirts, wideleg trousers and kick flares go hand-in-hand with the humble poloneck – an essential staple that continues to work hard this season. For evening glamour, reference Studio 54 in lamé gold, faux fox fur and brilliant beading.
Wrap up warm in The Great Coat; a belted, longerline length in a classic silhouette. Capes, ponchos, sleeveless tabards and peacoats all feature. Key accessories of the season include; the ultimate knee-high and over-the-knee boots, faux fur tippets, statement earrings and clusters of brooches. Camel and ivory are the new neutrals; highlighting a rich pallet of merlot, rust, ochre, poison green and rich purple.
Anything and everything with faux-fur and fringing had me at hello! I was also gifted with a fab oversized leopard print scarf. Thank you again to Katie and the girls in Oasis. This collection is definitely one to check out. #Love
