About the Awards
Galway City played host to the ultra glamorous Goldenegg Fashion Innovation Awards again this year, with the glittering ceremony taking place on Tuesday 24 March 2015 at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Last year’s event wowed guests as the Irish fashion industry’s up-and-coming talent showcased their show-stopping designs in what has now become the fashion event of the year. Exciting collections from award winning designers throughout 6 categories, including designs from 5 fashion colleges will be shown at the Awards ceremony on March 24th which was a sell-out success again.
The Goldenegg Irish Fashion Innovation Awards were sponsored by Youngblood Cosmetics, Hartmanns of Galway, Brown Thomas, Local Enterprise Office Galway, Hogan Motors Galway, GALWAYnow Magazine and The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Galway. The Awards give support and a voice to young design talent throughout Ireland, providing a fantastic opportunity for their work to be shown to a panel made up of fashion design experts.
The Special Guest Designer at The Irish Fashion Innovation Awards 2015 was award-winning Irish designer Helen Cody. Helen specialises in unique pieces and hand finished collections with each piece being tailored for the individual in her studio in Dublin. Her work has been seen on the red carpets of the Oscars, the Cannes Film Festival, the Tony Awards, IFTA’s and countless international film premieres and is part of many private collections world wide.

Fashion Innovation Awards 2015
I was delighted to be going to this years awards as I knew some of the designers, organisers and models that were involved in the event and I wanted to show my support.
The day started off with guest designer Helen Cody talking to Pat Kenny of NewsTalk ahead of the show while the production team were getting everything ready for the evening.
The show began with a drinks reception in the foyer of the Radisson where there was some seriously amazing sushi canapes being passed around! Each person who attended also received a gift with Keoghs Crisps, Youngblood Cosmetics, Rustic Grub samples, Ferrero Rocher chocolates and Accorn Insurance Discount Card and the latest Issue of GALWAYnow magazine! What a treat!
Zenith Hair and Youngblood Cosmetics were responsible for the models beautiful hair and makeup. There were so many amazing looks on the night, I ended up taking at least 200 photos during the show (I am forever taking photos as you already know).
