Have you caught the denim bug yet? I’ve slowly but surely been adding more and more denim to my wardrobe. Here is one of my latest purchases…

I bought this striped top from New Look, it was less than €15.00 if I remember correctly (not too pricey at least) 🙂 They don’t have it in stock at the minute but click here for similar tops. I bought this skirt for €15.00 in Malaga, Spain. I spotted it in a small store not far from the beach. There are so many stores selling similar ones at the minute both online and on the high street; River Island, Topshop, New Look, the list goes on. Bottom line, denim is well and truly in right now! My sunnies are from River Island, they are €17.00 and I bought my pale pink flats in Aldo last summer. They were just under €50.00! #Love

There’s more…

Printed & Patched Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are obviously one of the hottest trends right now, as they are every time the Summer comes around. One thing that can get repetitive and boring though is wearing the same type of denim shorts each year. Why not mix it up a little?

I’ve noticed a rising trend in patched and printed denim shorts at the moment and there’s many brands doing their own take on the style. From subtle bleached shapes to full on wild and bright prints, from a little patch of denim to over the top fabric layers, one thing is for sure and that’s the fact that these shorts are here to make a statement, give a pop to your outfit and add a sense of fun to your overall look.

Culottes

Culottes are often seen during fashion week in pant form, but recently many brands are releasing denim versions. The high street stores are taking the trend on too and I’m expecting to see quite a few more bloggers wearing them!

Raw Hems

One of my favourites! I love having the fuzzy frayed denim on the bottom of ankle jeans as I think it’s so different and interesting. They aren’t to be ignored! They can definitely give a whole new look to your outfit!

Button Up Denim Skirts

Button up denim skirts are all the rage thanks to Alexa Chung’s collaboration with AG Jeans. The mod style is bringing denim skirts back in a modern way making it one of the most versatile denim pieces you could own. The great thing about this trend is it looks just as great long as it does short, and it comes in different colors in case you want to collect them all.

Denim Pencil Skirts

Denim pencil skirts have been and still are incredibly popular this Summer! We have already seen quite a few on celebrities like Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba and on a lot of bloggers as well! One of the most popular ways to wear them is with a lighter washed denim shirt tucked into a mid blue denim pencil skirt.

I used to wear denim skirts when I was a teenager and quickly outgrew them as they seem too young for me now, however I absolutely adore the invention of pencil skirts in denim. Pencil skirts are always so tailored and classy, so they are a great mature version to wear.

Dungaree Dresses

Similar to the short dungaree trend, it’s now crossed over into dungaree dresses! Inspired by vintage styles from the 90’s, these are gorgeous and can give a youthful appearance to any outfit. Pairing them with a cropped tee and some sandals is great for a day in the park. I definitely think these dresses look best when worn casually.

There you have it. There is A LOT of denim out there so it’s up to you to mix and match and decide what suits your style best. Pencil skirts, skinnies with raw hems, button ups and patched denim shorts are top of my list. What’s top of yours?

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Until next time…
